Re: RM Commando mission Afghanistan

Hi Ares, Ross Kemp - Back On the Front Line latest series. This is just as good. It has a slightly different take, there is less fighting and shooting. I think, he got shot at a couple of times in the last 2 series. In this one, its more quiet and more stable area. In this series, the Forces are con...

First into Action sounds very interesting, will check it out on Amazon.
Just understand what is said, it was a real life event correct ? Has there been a film on it yet or not like 'Strike Back' which I enjoyed very much

Re: RM Commando mission Afghanistan

Yes, I have been watching it. It is a fascinating account about daily life on deployment in a difficult environment. Chris Terrill is a great reporter and makes it very interesting to watch even if you are not into military generally. What did you think of Ross Kemp in Afghanistan series? I thought ...

Many thanks mate !

P.S
I have ordered Apache by Ed Macy, its supposed to have rave reviews. My friend, she never ever reads military, she recommended it and she came across by accident after her husband read it and she was glued to it.

Re: Whick fiction books to read Andy McNab or Chris Ryan ?

Hi timex, Sorry, very late in replying your post I am exploring those as well, the autobiography of General Mike Jackson sounds very interesting. Whenever, he was on the news being interviewed, I liked the way he answered tough questions and he seemed to be such a genuine person. Have you got any re...

Re: Greetings

welcome to the forum hayls
Its a great place for banter with some great personalities and you get to understand the military way of doing things and their phiosophy which they don't tell you on the tv documentaries. I am a civilian myself and learnt a great deal here.

Have a great time.

Re: Females In The Military

Pah ! No Spice Girls, they wouldn't last 5 minutes on the tarzan assault course. Well maybe, Sporty Spice. prefer Goldie Hawn myself, she was a much better candidate for girl power in the military. Or can't we have a female version of ' the one that got away' ? OR Lara Croft Please no Mills an...

Re: Do RM get R&R when on tours?

The modern guys have it so good then compared to the older generation years ago. It must have been hard on the wives and families. Plus, they didn't have, laptops, email, ipads, iphone, android phones, skype and internet in those days either.
