I stumbled across this website when searching for information about the SAS. Unlike us Aussies, you lot have much more information about your special forces. I love the tales of operations, courage and sheer bloody determination. I dare say it stems from reading my great uncle's letters from when he was a pow in changi and died there of berri berri. My grandfather was in Papua New Guinea but he never speaks about it and I never ask. Now my cousin is in the Aussie SAS he has been with them for 8 years (just passed his, I think his silver beret) and would love to pound him with questions but I know I can't. My favourite public holiday in Australia is Anzac day a couple of hundred thousand people line the streets in Sydney to cheer on our diggers, there are dawn services, tears and beers oh yes plus two up. But the best thing about Anzac Day is when you are cornered in a pub by an old digger who tells you stories, he crys, you cry and you thank god for our armed service people.
So here I am wanting to listen and ask questions feel free to bend my ear because I love it.

Another Australian!!!, you say.

I've read the Unit Routine Orders and I hereby truely declare that I am not an Knobber.

I have had numerous security problems with my computer and this has prevented me from Registering, but all is now well.

This being a UK based Military Forum there probably won't be much call for contributions on Australian Military Subjects, but never the less I am looking forward to being involved in any relevant discussions and/or Mess banter. :)
