Are the RAuxAF Regiment set up the same as the regular Regiment? Rapier and Field Squadrons. And do they have a para Squadron? If not is it possible to do a para course with them. And do they recruit women? Or is that for admin duties only?

Seems a bit daft them not been able to get their wings. RMR & Non Para Reg TA can do para courses. Came across auggies a few years back at one of the airshows. Seemed to look the part and know what they were doing. Was you one yourself stever? Or did you serve with any?

There are no RAF Regiment females anymore. We all got moved into other trades ie supply or admin when they changed the role of the squadron. I started off as RAF Regiment nearly 20 years ago on 2729 Sqn which had Oerlikon 35mm but did do some time on a field squadron (and I didnt just do HQ stuff!).

You do get the best of both worlds in some ways being an Oggie...Don't forget that most have a full time job as well as the training they do on their Sqn so if you don't want to go full time enjoy the military half life..
