Ah the Halcyon days of youth, I remember the first time I met the afore mentioned Anthia Rowbotham.
Was a saturday night (not the same saturday as when the plague was laid) I and some oppos had entered the Royal Naval School of dancing and were entering the stairs, on the way up,reaching the half way stage, I distinctly remember a rather brusk male Janner voice screamed down at us "One outward bound" It was then that I saw the love of my life for the first time, she passed the four of us, mid air, feet first completely elegant and composured.
My hart lost a beat as I noticed her crutchless underware... It was later that I found out what a resourceful lady she was, for the underware she was wearing that night were a pair of pussers grunds, which had been worn out in the nether regions, by the ample thighes of my good friend Maggie May, Yes the one and the same.Anthia I found out worked as a fitter in the Bra factory just up the road from Stonehouse,( I joke you not)and .....well you know the rest, a few pints of scrumps in the United services, a quick grope on the Hoe and its all history, I though our love would never die, but there is nothing more fickle than a Janner maid's love for a young Marine
