well when i first joined the A.T.C i was all R.A.F and like every other man and his dog that joins the A.T.C, i wanted to be a pilot.
Luckily, our CO was ex R.A.F Regiment, and the squadron is very close to the local TA unit.
So it didnt take long before i was going on exercises with the T.A and so on, and I absolutely loved it.
Last summer I spent a week camp at R.A.F Brize Norton, and just so happened to be sharing our mess with a group of paras, and after talking to a few (very rare, most people hate cadets

) I was really interested.
So now im keeping an eye out for any information i can find, and also i hope to be doing the parachute course through A.T.C when im 16, to see if ill be able to hack the jumping out of plane bit before i go in for the real thing
...............and i'll stop talking now.

Most people hate cadets...not sure how true that is...maybe it was just cos you were with the crabs!! I met PWRR, Loggies and Engineers in cadets, plus an unscheduled meeting with Gurkhas (we walked into their ambush, wasn't pretty I assure you, turned out the training area had been double-booked and the two parties didn't have sufficient comms about who was where and when); all of them were friendly and encouraging so long as you didn't ask bone questions and were fairly switched on, remember a lot of the lads were in our shoes not that long ago!! Even the Gurkhas were a good laugh after they got over us screwing up their ex!! Good times, and I'm sure Royal will be that much better...
