Distraught from the Cotswolds

Post by Contractor »

Disaster, what can I do?

It's so embarrassing, what will the neighbors think?

How do we tell the rest of the family?

We have tried bribery, recommended counselling but to no avail, the wife and I are at our wits end. Any advice most welcome.

Nearly forgot to post the problem - youngest lad is thinking of joining the RAF :o

Cheers Sully, but it came straight out of the 'blue'.

Thinking back he did show tendencies at an early age - walking sideways when young rather that in a straight line, always late, strange fascination with Brylcream, calling his pet hamster Ginger. All the signs were there, I just wished we had spotted them earlier. So sad.

It's a difficult one Dave :(

I think the dis-own option goes without saying, it's only reasonable, not so sure about the name change, I like Contractor as a pseudo, not sure if the boss would be to happy with it though, will discuss it with her tonight.

Know how you feel Oppo.

Mk3 daughter joins the dreaded RAF in May!

She wants to be a loadmaster on Pumas.

Artist my friend, reassuring to know others has gone through similar stressful news.

Loadmaster also seems to be the chosen path of 'what's his name' as he is now known. He seemed surprised when I referred to this trade as "winch weight'.

Oh well, another reason to have a pint or two in Cheshire

Oh Sh*t, the shame of it all. Can't you push him towards the girl guides instead, or anything a bit more macho than the , I dare hardly say it, the RAF. As you say, the signs were there but , unhappily you missed them, wizard prang wot? Must be careful in what we say, we have a few rotary wing people who must have had leanings in that direction themselves. Too much exposure to Biggles early in life.

Contractor, has the dog started answering to the call, "Nigger", are you told to take care of said "Nigger" when the lad goes off on a mission, (school run). Has he started smoking a pipe, looking haughtily at his mother and saying things like, "Mummy, may I bring Evangleine to tea on Sunday, she's a brick!" Has he got a map of Germany with the Ruhr circled in red "Target for tonight"
Does he fail to wash, wear the same clothes all week, and leave his pit unmade, if so there is a small, very small chance he may become Pongoloid.
Anything is better than seafood.
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

Good link 'arry :( I feel none the better.

Unfortunatly oh great one, he has always been the cleanest of lads, almost to the point of obsession - he showers twice a week for gawds sake!

All is lost I fear

Contractor

Such is life! To be honest she will be in uniform and away from me!

Am not going to miss the cry of "Daaaad! can you lent me £20!"
Daughters are nice but it's great when other people take charge of their life! And to be honest I am fervently hoping that it will sort her out.

I will just take great enjoyment in the thought that my MK3 will be a right COW! And remember her old Dads words on the Armed Forces:

Make them suffer if they give you sh*t! (well she will be a JNCO!)

I think you have to try to move with the times, Contractor. It's perfectly legal for consenting adults to want to join the RAF nowadays. Even if we don't approve, we should accept that some people, for whatever reason, feel drawn to it. We should not shun them but simply accept that the have different desires. Indeed, there are rumours that several senior establishment figures have been known to frequent "air bases" from time to time.

Of course, electric shock therapy's an option.

Dear Mr Contractor

Your sprog has shown great initiative , he is lining himself up for an arm that sends the officers in first to get blatted , top marks.

Also he can sit around for 9 years , drink coffee and watch MTV all day , I did and it never hurt me !
