What do people think about the fact that blatant discrimination in the services that exists in the form of food & accomodation charges? eg a divorcee aged 40 with 3 teenage children is financially penalised, and therefore would pay the same charges as a 18yr old single lad? That a married mans meal charge is less than a single mans? etc and so and so on... etc It is the year 2002.

My recollection is that naval pay regs was changed in late 80s/early 90s to allow a single guy (incl divorcee) who is a home-owner, and would normally live in that home except for the exigencies of the service to only pay the reduced rate if he is a home- owner.

It was a hard fight to get this through (including some Courts Martial)

The flip side is that unless your a sea-goer there is nothing stopping from you from living ashore. So on this occasion I would argue the system is balanced.

Sorry Secure, but its better than civvy street (Bedsit £45 pw + food + power)...........

Have you been taking lessons from Tony's Cronies on how to consult, never mind if the vote goes against you you'll still be able to claim it wasn't a fair representation.

A survey said ....... Uhhhn....Uhhhn.
