Okay people, opinions!! :)

Looking at the different tools on the market, Gerber, Leatherman and the old swiss army knife.

From the Leatherman range I was thinking of either the PST II or Pulse tools. From the Gerber vareity I was torn between the MP600 and the MP650 Evolution, or maybe at a push the Urban Legend. From the swiss army range it'd be the biggest and best! 8)

I am being drawn from the swiss knife because it does not have pliers, which is a shame. :(

I choose leatherman ... because I can spell it :D and the other make sounds too much like a rodenty type creature ... can you imagine having to write home about it ... "Yeah mate I bust me gerbil on a ..." see get my point? :P

Ok, I'll leave this thread for serious discussion on leathermen and their gerbils ...

Well mine cost £4.99 at Trago Mills and it's still going strong after 3 years!

Used it a lot, even used it to cut down someone who was trying to hang themselves. :o

Great bit of kit. Was there today, £7.99 now but come with a leather pouch to! :D

Lots of dosh doesnt always guarantee a good buy! :o

I'm still looking for one of the old 'original' issue clasp knives.... it'll do me.

The one with the marlin spike for splicing and a wide and thick blade,
rounded not pointed. Bit sticking out for a screwdriver and criss cross pattern for a non slip finish - All metal and great gear....
Can't find one over here - Anyone know of a source ?

Got the lanyard - looking for the knife !

Cash clothing or my old kit bag!
They don't do the criss cross pattern anymore, the new ones are designed so you slip and gash your hand open  Gives the MAs something to do.

I want to get a leatherman wave, but I believe they cost about £100. Alternatively, ill buy a leatherman keyring from Next.

What are those credit card thingies called? The ones with a blade, pliers, ruler, toothpick and all that in.

I got my Leatherman from the stores but bought a Gerber for fishing. They both have advantages but when someone offers you a Leatherman for free it would be rude to say no... wouldn't it?

Have a look at http://www.shop4leatherman.co.uk and http://www.shop4gerber.co.uk. They have them at reduced prices as they a bought off the net and not through the middle man.

And why do you need a Wave, there are more blades on that thing than in a knife shop!!!! Pulse seems perfectly adequate, but then the T3 limited edition Gerber..... :D

Also I saw a multi tool much similar Black Rat's idea, in Halfords they have them for a tenner! :o

I'm not sure of the medical term for your condition but I'm sure there's help available somewhere. Maybe in the private sector if not on the NHS! :)

By the way, I believe none of them are suitable for d-i-y vasectomies! :o
