WE or WS???

Hi, I am stuck on whether to join as a weapons engineer or a warfare specialist -
I mostly want to operate on the guns - whether it be small arms or chain gun etc
Although I did read that warfare specs also operate the guns which has led me to be stuck.
One advantage I do see is that as a WE, I could get engineering qualifications while serving.
So, pros and cons of WE and WS please?
