Light Infantry

Interested in joining the LI; had a couple of interviews etc.
I just found out that a relative of mine wrote the history of the LI when he was in (I previously thought I had no connection with the army let alone the LI). Trouble is no-one knows it or how to get hold of it. I'd really like to know where to get hold of it before my next interview as i'm sure it wouldn't hurt to drop it into the conversation!

Mike B, the author of the book called "Exceedingly lucky; a history of the Light Infantry, 1968-1993" was called Antony Warne. THese links might give you the answer's you are looking for.

If you want to know more in W.H.Smiths they sell a magazine called "International Military review" or somthing like that. I bought it because of its massive article on the LI including all the county LI regiments too. Check it out

Yeah i was speaking to an Ex DLI bloke who's training with me and they way he spoke he made the RGJ and the LI sound exactly the same and very close

well the light infantry and the royal green jackets are both in the Light Divison so that is why they work so closely

If you apply to either reg as an officer you go through the same processing this is through the light div as a whole choosing LI or RGJ's only later. As far as I can gather they operate in the same way and have very similar ethos.
