Hi everyone!
Applied for army couple of weeks ago n just wondering if you can help me with some issues i have about the fitness test!
I heard that you have to do the 1.5m run within 14mins (ive actually got it down to 9mins) but just wondering as ive heard differently, do you have to do it on the treadmill or outside?
Could someone please confirm this for me please
Thankyou!

At AFCO iv been told 10 and half mins!!
And i think the conditions you do it on depends on wether, i know people who have done it on both treadmil and outside!

Really? Because I went to my AFCO last week and they said 14mins :-/ think I'll have to try and keep under 10 just incase!
Do you have any advice on a fitness regime at all?
Thanks for your swift reply!

Yeah 100% sure as i was there a few days ago, he asked what im running it at and its a shocking 13mins

Lol He said i definetly need to get it down to 10 and half.
There are different levels depending on what your going in for but he said through basic you will be running with everyone else and expected to do it at a high level so if you run in at 10 mins its going to reflect on your grade which for that bit will be better of than what im currently running it at!
I can send you a proper army fitness regime if you like, send me your email and il take pictures of it on my phone and email you it if you like?

It needs to be under 14mins to pass, but the goal at the end is to be at 10:30. You may have been told 10:30 because theres so many people applying there only going to take the best there, so you may pass all the tests but still get sent away if you have only met the minimum requirements. So Id train hard if your serious about getting in.

Ok thankyou.! By the way do you have to do a bleep test because I've never done one before and I'm unsure of the scoring method :-/

Im sure the bleep test is a Marine Test not heard of the army using it. But the bleep test works in levels every time it speeds up your going up a level the aim is to get to the highest level you can. A PTI starts with you to get you into the rythm.

A mile and half in 14 minutes is little more than a brisk walk

You dont do the bleep test at selection unless the weather is to bad to do the run outside (ice etc). You will do the bleep test in the army when you start training.
As tab said 14 mins is more than plenty of time to do a mile and a half, just needs a little bit of effort and commitment!
