Hi, I was wondering what the joining process / recruitment is like at the moment? Is it still slow or are things picking up? Does anybody know roughly the joining process time for the Royal Engineers? How far in to the application process is it before the medical takes place?

My reason for wanting to know is because I am not 100% confident I would pass the medical. Is there anyway I could go to my GP and ask for a military style check up to see how he thinks I may get on?

I don't want to spend a long time going through the application process to just be knocked down on the medical.

All depends what grade you get and what trade your going for Going for the engineers good chose

google AFCO 4 AND AFCO 5

These will give you the medical standards.
