Any one that becomes a Para in any Branch of the Army has to do the P Course, so if your shins are not up to joining the Regiment what makes you think that you will get in via the back door.

That aint exactly true, theres a lot more than a few in the army who have wings but have never attempted p coy let alone passed it.

Well the RA chaps all used to have to do the P Course and were proud to have done it. Still when we were an Independant Brigade quite a few years back only the odds and sods like the Vicars just did their jumps.

Whats wrong with your shins? Is it shin splints?

If so they will recover over time, so it may be worth while delaying your joining date.
