Me again, have just been looking through a few pics and noticed there was Royal Artillery and Rifles etc all in the same pic therefore in the same location. So I was wondering do regiments (e.g Royal Artillery) that have phase 1 and phase 2 do the 1st phase at Catterick with the front line infantry then move to there respected training bases for phase 2?

Cheers

Hello buddy,

I'm going into the Royal Artillery as a Special Observer and I go to Pirbright for my Phase 1 and then larkhill, Salisbury Plain for my Phase 2 and then ITC Catterick for my Phase 3.

Hope that clears something up for you!

so far as i know, phase 1 is the same for all applicants, from the rifles right through to the military police- so im guessing its very probable someone from the rifles will be doing phase 1 alongside an artillery guy.
phase 1 is basic training, which everyone has to do, so i guess everyone does it at the same places.

its only at phase 2 when things differ, when you learn the specialities of your trade.

however, this is just an educated guess- it makes sense, but im not 100%

Educated it might be but 100% wrong

Infantry training is done at Catterick

Other Arms train at Pirbright/Bassingbourne (might be closed now)
Winchester/Lichfield

Thanks lads :).

How come there were Rifles guys in the pic with royal artillery guys aswel? looked like they were all good mates etc???

Infantry stay at Catterick from start to finish don't they.
