go with marines mate. im royal and enjoy the job but i suppose a para would say be a para soooo yano pros and cons really. Two very different mentalities, im not slating the army but dont join go for something else theres some great blokes in the army and alot of bootnecks are ex pongos aswel an a few of my friends are but i have also seen flip side and some unprofessional things and marines are more professional, but i suppose thats what the training is all about and geared up towards that mentality.

i have decided to try and get into the paras just seems a better choice for me army seems like a more friendly place than when i went into the navy for a chat they were not helpfull one bit and just told me to get out and not come back till after my court date for talking on a phone while driving.

Both excellent and there are some damn fine line regiments too.
Anyone serving now as an infanteer is likely to see action. Possibly and I say this advisedly there are more specialist skill opportunities with Royal.
I leave it to others however to make their case for whatever unit they served in. They have all earned my respect.

Makes sense to me. Base your career decision on the attitude of a grumpy Matelot working in a Careers Office.

As Guns 'one pipper' states who would base their entire military career on the attitude of a grumpy
matelot ?
Chas- Two stars no pips

I'm in a similar situation, I am very interested in both the Royals and the PARA's but am torn.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Parachute regiment insight course, and was wondering if the Royal Marines had anything similar?
What individual qualities better suit you for one or the other?
