Fair enough if to be a driver is what you want. But to do it because you can't be arsed to train enough to knock a minute or two off a mile and a half run (which lets be honest is little more than a leg stretch) hardly shows the right attitude.
But then neither does most of the RLC, so maybe it's for you

I would also be interested in exact times and fitness scores needed for RLC, as I intend to join as an ammunition technician. MSI64 I think you would be the best suited to inform me?

What's wrong with just aiming for times like 9 and 10 minutes rather than try and get JUST the required times?

That's not what I meant at all, my run time atm is 9 mins 20-40 I can do 84 pressups in 2 mins and 67 situps, 21 heaves and I can carry jerry cans for the 150m but apart from them I wanted to know of all the fitness requirements.

I was In the RLC, and I still hat to come In under 10.30
I am now RAMC and I still have to come In under 10.30 (well I get 11.00 as I am getting old)
And just so you know my last BPFA was 9.15.

MSI64, if your last comment was aimed at me, I didn't really follow; either way, my last line was tongue in cheek, no offence intended

EDIT - ignore that, it makes sense now I've read it sober, wasn't for me at all
Hands on, it's always amused me that it seems to be the case that the powers that be assume the enemy will pursue you slower, your mate who's just been shot will last longer, or the battle will just generally slow if you're over the age of 30

It's always made me chuckle, that you hit 30 and then you get given another 30 sec, how does that work then.
I can say for one thing I intend never to use those extra seconds.

I have 11 minutes thirty (yes I am that old) and I still come in in just under 10 minutes.
14 minutes is needed for ADSC for RLC, however you need to run 10.30 to get out of Phase One training!

trust me. when you get older you wont be bangin out the 8min 1.5milers, although i put a lot of the fresh meat to shame on my current timings. but for a young gent wanting to go into ANY branch of the forces(in my opinion) needs to be of the mindset, right i know the minimum - now iv got to get out there and destroy it.
