i am joining the reme to be a vm (b) or an aircraft tech not one hundred % sure because i have worked on cars for the past 3 years and wouldnt mind a change to air craft tech and it also seems more challanging. any aircraft techs thats can tell me more about the job??

First off I never reached the dizzy heights of Air tech...I only flew them.

The Engineers from the REME who service all the AAC aircraft are usually a great bunch, work hard, play hard and very helpful. The REEMs are divided in to 2 groups "Blackies" who are the ones changing all the rotating bits and frames, and "Greenies" who handle all the avionic and instrumentation on the Aircraft. Greenies did have a slightly different pay scale but this may have changed.

You will be based with the AAC at various bases around the UK and other less/more exotic places.

For my money you won't go wrong with becoming an aviation tech, Good luck.

thank you timex i think i would rather be a blackie as i much prefer 2 get my hands dirty working on engines and such. from what i have read up bout the aircraft tech it seems like a more intresting and chalanging job than my other choice witch is vm (B) but i have been working on cars for 3 years as an apprentice witch is the only thing pulling me towards vm (B).
