They should explain to you the format of what happens and some example questions. They should also have given you a leaflet to take home to do some practice questions.
It was a while since i did it, but from what i remember its stuff like, "Dan is taller than Sally. Who is the shortest?"
Not exactly Mastermind. But you want to be a Paratrooper, not Prime Minister.
Oh, have you chosen what job you want to do yet? RAF Regiment, REME or Paras?

If he wanted to be prime minister he would have answered Dan

You should of been giving a book called ' The BARB TESTS' 'an introduction' if they didn't go back and get one. I have one here the questions are like 1. Joe is not as happy as mike who is sadder? (Joe) (Mike) and its touch screen so you touch the correct annswer. Also questions like this (n)(p)(r)(g) then underneath it (j)(m)(h)(q) and it will say work out how many pairs contain the same letter wich are the same; the anwer to that would of been 0. Also there is 3 numbers; for e,g 11-2-4 and it you have to work out the largest and the smallest number, so 11 is the largest 2 is the smallest, then you have to work out wich number is further away from the remaining number 4, 2 is 2 away from 4 and 11 is 7 away from 4 so the answer is number 11. Also there is 3 letters for e,g arouse-odd-unusual then you have to work out wich one is the odd one out, so arouse would be the odd one out. Finally is symbol rotation, i can't really explain this one on the computer you'll have to get the book from your afco, hope i was of some help.

Surely your Recruiter took you through it when he went through the application?

The barb test is fairly easy to understand, Its not so much a pass or fail test its more like how quickly you can answer the questions, The better the score the more job choices are opened up to you. You really should have been given a booklet to help you and you will need it.

As stated you should have been given a booklet go back to your recruiter and ask for one!!
there are 5 tests, number distance, reasoning, shapes, word association and letter pairing.
theyre all pretty easy, youre judged on speed and accuracy.
you dont really need the booklet but its helps, because youre given examples before you take each test, though its good to prepare nonetheless.
you need a score of 60 to have all jobs available to you.

A friend of mine scored 40 on his and had limited job choices opened to him, This was down to one little mistake he made which slowed him up because he lost his concentration. Good job hes only going for the AAC like me ha ha ha.

^^ what he said, you should have been given a score, but if youve got all jobs available to you then you scored 60+

as long as you are able to choose the job you wanted it doesnt matter

yh i got my score aswell but i think it just depends on the careers office you go to, i suppose gettin a pass means you passed for all jobs really which is cool

Please people, watch your spelling and grammar.
I am going to start binning posts and people who are too lazy to capitalise when it's necessary. As I've said on countless occasions, this is not your Nokia.
