Just for those that are interested...

Royal Marine Mark Burton has agreed to join us to answer your questions. Mark has been with the Royal Marines for 24 years and his work as a Platoon Weapons specialist has taken him from the Arctic regions of Norway to the jungles of the Far East.

Mark has also worked with new recruits at the Commando Training Centre, so he has a lot of experience of what it takes to train to Commando standard.

Mark has risen to the rank of Warrant Officer 2nd Class, so he really knows where hard work and the right attitude can get you. As a Platoon Weapons Specialist, he’s trained teams from Armed Forces around the world, so Mark’s the man to tell you just what makes the Royal Marines truly world-class.

If you want to know more about any aspect of Royal Marines life, from Commando training to travel and adventure, don’t miss this Live Chat. Just visit the website tomorrow between 4-6pm, and ask Mark your questions.

Got a mate who’s into the idea of joining the Royal Marines?
Forward this email and get them to join the Live Chat too.

Had a look for abit, was good but nothing you cant find on here really, alot of questions were repeated:seemed that most people were worried about their age(too young or old) and if they are fit enough to join,to which the obvious replies were age doesn't matter and aslong as your fairly fit with the right state of mind nothings stopping you from joining.

He did answer my question which was helpful. Pretty much that the RM's will pay for me to fly over from Canada, but not back if I fail. Im assuming I pay for the ticket, and they re-imburse me at the training center.

Like degrees of passion said, a lot of questions on age and fitness.

Ty, sounds like you've got more reason to pass than most of us then. That'd be an expensive ticket otherwise :o Good luck to ya :)

Here's hoping mate. My birthday is this Monday, I'll be 26 ;-). Getting up there in the numbers. I should be over this coming January.
