This is from official RMR section of Royal Navy website..

Basic requirements

British, Irish and Commonwealth citizens may join the RMR. Nationality restrictions may apply for certain specialisations. Only men can serve in the RMR.

You need to be between 16 and 32 years old, though in exceptional circumstances enlistment after the age of 32 may be authorised, and age limits do not apply to applicants with former Regular or Reserve service. All applicants under the age of 17 must have parental consent at the time of application. All applicants must be physically fit and able to meet the same entry standards as the Regular Royal Marines, which are explained later in this website.

Highlighted part most people seem to query on this forum..

Here's the link if you want to read it for yourself!!

I should that the exceptional circumstances would mean you would need to be fit, keen and not too mental, although if in doubt PHONE YOUR LOCAL UNIT!!!

Cheers, I hope this has helped someone.. (anyone?!)

That's encouraging Zatoichi
I'm 34 (with prev army experience) and was turned away.
I'm a Doctor and have spent the last 10 years getting through exams. Now have the time to join RMR and bring my skills from civi practice but seems I'm too old...
