Wrist / Elbow Tendonitis

Hey guys,

I know there are threads about tendonitis and stuff.
But I just wanted to get an opinion / see if anyone has the same problem.

I have tennis elbow and tendonitis in my wrist&forearms. I have to take meds 3 times every day or else it comes back in full swing. It doesnt stop me from lifting things like I normally do just hurts like hell.

I wondered if anyone else has had these and got into RT?
Bottom line is I could have to take these pills 3 times a day for the rest of my life, I presume that would bar me? :-? or do I have to give the old AFCO a call?

Thanks.
Hellbreather.

The RM website has a pretty decent list of things that would bar you from entry. However, like you said, its best to give the AFCO a call. I have an old injury which the website and literature I had been given said would stop me joining. After applying anyway and never hiding this injury I did pass the medical. It is worth a try.

Was your tennis elbow not picked up at your original medical exam, or has it developed since then?

Well my wrist tendonitis was a small nick at the time of my Medical and since I failed it (due to weight) it started to develop into something worse,
I'm going to ring him today, I well hope he doesnt say that I'm barred or else I don't know what to do. Lol.

I had this a while ago and went to see a physio about it. He told me to use IBULEVE anti inflamatory cream on it and he also gave me sound treatment, which worked a treat.

This stuff is gold, don't over use it (or use it if you have renal faults) but if you need a decent anti inflammatory with out pills then tis the stuff.

God I sound like a commercial

Climbers often suffer from Golfers Elbow, which is like Tennis elbow, but caused by the hand being at a different angle. A common fix is to try pressups as this helps address the muscle imblance at the root of the problem.

But I guess that if you are probably doing pressups anyway so this advice may not be much help.
