Rather than asking questions about the role of the Raf regiment, this is really a question to any ex members or current ones, do you enjoy being in the Raf regiment, or do you have any regrets over joining.

Random question I know, but seems to make more sense seeing what serving people actually think of it. Any replies would be good cheers.

I wouldnt mind join the regiment but the 9 years service time puts me off, when I could do a combat job in the army for just 4 years.

Does the 9 year service time put anyone else off?

Not really mate...if you're already thinking of coming out before you have even started then the Regiment probably won't be for you... I'm sure if someone really can't hack the Regiment life, then there will be a way out.

It does say 9 years service but when you sign the notice of engagement it allows you to hand in your notice (after 3years service) at any time and 18months later you will leave the RAF. So total time, 4.5 years.
