On my recruitment DVD it says the Trainasium is about the same size as a 2/3 storey building. But I dont know how accurate the infomation is (about 1 year old) maybe better to get a accurate answer from one of the PTI's there like Sandy The Guv. That's the thing I'm most scared of too mate, I keep thinking if I miss one one bars and fall off  :o.

The trainasium is the buckshee'st event on P-Coy so dont worry about. You do get plenty of goes prior to P-Coy. According to the Channel 4 documentary on P-Coy 'it's only the height of a 5 storey building' :D

There's safety nets so that if you fall through the bars you will be ok, even at the highest point, ie the shuffle bars, you wont fall all the way down if you did manage to come off them.

I've only done the low part but it was pretty easy really, but then I'm not frightened of heights, all you have to do is attack it with confidence and you will be fine. One lad did fall off but it was because he was flapping a bit and the more you hesitate the more likely you are to make a mistake, if you just keep going you'll be fine.

No matter what, the trainasium is not as high as a plane before you jump out of it, don't forget the para part of the paratroopers. As in parachute, planes, heights and stuff. :)

The superman jump is probably the most dangerous. I saw one lad do trip and do about 3 somersaults and land in the net.

A lad in SP coy with me got his leg caught in the net on the superman jump and broke it, he got MD'd and had to wait another 2 years before joining up again. So the dangers out there lads. Take care 8)

When did they put nets on the trainasium?
It must obviously be quite nerve wracking but hopefully not as bad as a one Private Golden makes out:

Nobody's scared of heights mate its just the fear of falling! But I reckon if you think your going to fall then you will, if you believe your going to be fine then you will, probably the more you think about the risk of falling the more likely you are to fall! I know it's easy for me to say because I haven't done it yet or anything but a good mate of mine is a Para and that's what he said so I'm just really saying what he said! Good luck either way!
