Anyone else use this? You can input: runs, circuits, weights, aerobics or whatever. Here's mine

)

Yep me too, don't use all the features, just go on it the night before my run and plan a quick 2-3 mile run, eh voila!

I've used it too, although I found out that because my run involves country lanes, you have to mark it so it is exact (i.e trying your best to mark every corner and turn!) otherwise you don't get the correct distance measurement.
But a very good website, yes.

Have you tried ticking the box that says "Follow Roads"? If you do this and zoom in a bit to plan your route it works really well. Works for me when I include footpaths between roads etc.

Cheers I will try that when I log in next.

Pretty niffty website, but damn that follow roads thing can get anoying, the bloody thing tries to plan your route for you, I mean like when you click near the end of a road that goes different ways, it will just go for it round the bleeding dead end

. Just click on your house it's got to find a way. I might try that actually see what happens hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Heard of this site a while back, never really been onto it, but I've just decided to make an account because it sounds like you all find it useful!
Do you find that it helps with your training much?

I love looking at the progress I've made. Best is the avg pace times. I can look back to October and see 9:30 minute/mile and see 8:20 minute miles today.
There's another bonus of mapmypoints. Collect 10,000 and you get 75 dollars to spend at backcountry.com. I've been doing it for like a month and a half filling in all my stuff and have 2200 points. Few more months and I'll effectively get a free knife and mug.

hello lodge 939, Newmillerdam is a great place to train, I lived round there a few years ago and did most of my running there.
I see you keep to the path around the lake, I found the surface a bit gravelly.
I used to park up and enter the gate by the Dam Inn entrance, then there's a notice board on your left. Turn left and go up there and you get into the woods above the lake. There are paths that go on for miles, and it's all hills, no flat - great workout for leg strength - but take it steady. It's soft underfoot so good for the joints and you are sheltered from the wind - good for days like this weekend when it's blowing a gale. Give it a go, forget about mapping it though!

I can't afford a car right now, but your method definitely sounds a lot better. I hate running on the roads but I have to do a mile there and back to get to the dam. However, when I get round the lake I feel like I could run forever.
Here's an example of why mapmyrun is so awesome:
Oct 9th
2.88mile run
10:28 minute miles
Today, Dec 3rd
2.26mile run
07:37 minute miles
Progress at the click of a button
