Im currently using orthotics due to having rather flat feet, but i also am currently suffering with shin splits so would like to try soborthane soles to reduce the impact of when i walk/run.
Does anyoneknow if it is possible to use both of these at the same time?
Thanks

Do you not feel that everything is really packed in? I'm not sure i could fit another set of soles in my trainers/shoes

I'd avoid it if possbile; the orthoses are designed to hold your feet in their ideal position and too much squish means they won't work as well.

Do you find that they made much difference to just using the orthotics on their own?
Also did you remove the normal insole from your shoe or just use the sorborthane over it?
thanks

That should depend on the insole, some insloes are designed to replace the current insole, some are designed to work with them, check the insoles you're planning on buying. Most insoels however will replace the current insole.

Is that the case with the standard sorbothane insoles?, I've been using mine on top of the insoles that came with the trainer, they fit fine. Is it bad to use them like this if this if there not ment to be?
cheers

As far as I'm aware the 'full strike' model is meant to work with your current insole. The other models are meant to replace the insole. Check the website if your unsure. I would say though if its not broke don't fix it; they fit fine, you've no problems so I would leave them anyway. The flatter insloes can work with, as there is usually enough space in the shoe; the larger insoles usually don't have enough room and so replace the current insoles.

I have ordered a pair of the Sorbothane double strikes as these have built up arch support so hopefully will work the same as my orthotics, therefore i wont need to use both as just the sorbothane will do.
Hopefully

Do you have a good running shop near you? they can do a test and work out pronating/supernating... e.g. the running style for you and advise on insoles from there
