Hello everyone, i haven't been on here since i started RT, so now i'm on summer leave and have some spare time i thought i'd get on and tell you how things are going.
So i've completed phase one of training now and looking forward to week 16 and phase two after leave. So far i've enjoyed it, everyone has different expierance's, but i have found it ok, plenty of up's and not too many down's as yet, hopefully it stay's that way. I've been awarded a section tape, so i'm well happy with that.
Fire away with any questions on training and i'll answer them as honestly as i can and not dress anything up like most nods!

Richie

Hello mate,
It's not all that bad, get your head down get out of foundation and into the blocks, life becomes a little easier then. Go there with an open mind on how things are going to be and remember why your there.
Weeks 1-5 is all joining rountine, starting in the gym, drill and generally get trashed. Weeks 6-9, live firing, gym passout, getting more into it, weeks 10-15, the field exercise's become more intense, you get down to bottom field, more live firing, dunker drills, grenade throwing.
I know that's mega brief, but it goes really quick, its all progressive and basically everything is build up to week 15 and baptist run..

Dunker drills is getting out of a crashed helicopter in water or something *I think*. Baptist Run is an excercise full of navigation and yomping and section tape - each section in the troop (5 sections) will have a section leader, after week 15 he gets to put a bit of white tap on his uniform so others know hes a section leader. Leads up to becoming a Diamond and Kings Badgemen.

Alright Richie?

I'm in week nine at the moment... going in to week ten. Basically if there's anything you can tell me about Hunters Moon (advice, heads up on certain things etc) it would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Ritchie, you might of been told that when you get back your going into a hard week, you will have BPT everyday and if you loaf on phyz you'll feel it. Just a bit of friendly advice. WK16 is honkin.

Aye if I remember rightly my week 16 consisted of trying to learn harbour positions with the troop boss whilst still gibbering from bottom field or worrying what was going to happen down bottom field.

Happy days :D

Well done on getting the tape, now you just have to keep it.

I've just got off final ex, so if you want any heads up for phase 2, ask away.
As for the hardest exercise i would say it was violent entry, just for the yomping we did (damn you and your steep hlls sennybridge!!).

Enjoy your leave while you can :)

I second what Jack said about Violent Entry being the hardest, even though i aint done final Ex yet. Cant think of anything worse than yomping on the hills at Sennybridge, dont think im ever gonna go to Wales again!!

P.S. Unlucky on the sports day Jack, u were never going to beat the mighty 938 though!!!
