hi there, i left the marines yesterday from week 8 of training due to a few reasons, but was planning on joining the navy as aircraft mechanic/handler. so called the afco and apparently there is a 10 month waiting list. didn't see that one coming! anyways anyone got any ideas on waiting times for other branches? was thinking maybe weapons engineer? or maybe i'll just wait the 10 months and become a waffoo or whatever it is they are called.
also anyone out there currently serving/ was serving as an aircraft mechanic? if so, how is it? my mates who are ex navy and transfered to marines think that aircraft mechanic is the way forward? (they wernt in that branch though) sounds good to me from what they have said though.
any input appreciated!

I have applied as a Marine Engineer and just need my start date now. The wait for my branch is nine months so I am just playing a waiting game now. I applied in April so expect to go around January but that could easily change.

just found its a 4 month waiting list so not too bad, i dont have to take my tests again either seeing as im a rejoin, although that also causes problems apparently.
