Yeah i would have thought you had to write it down even though it was only basic training and i wouldnt of thought it had any effect on your application.

Your application will go to the RN/RM. They will request your previous service docs and your med docs from the Army.

I'm new to the forums, so be kind, please :P

Just received a new application form and filling it out now. One of the sections asks for previous military service. About 2 years ago I joined the Army, passed all the phases and started basic, but then I had some problems at home, so I left early during basic. Because of the problems at home and that I was leaving so early in the training, the OC recommended that I allow 24 months before reapplying for the Army and this is also in the report he gave.

First of all, do I need to list this down on the application form, even though I am joining the Royal Marines?

Second, will this have any baring on my application form with it being a fair while ago and under unfortunate circumstances?

Thanks

Kev
24 months that seems a bit to much i left for injury and compasionate reasons and i was old 6 months.

just make sure you still got your discharge papers and all your paperwork

Sorry to be kind of steeling your thread, but I have a similar question if I may?

I was medically discharged during para training, not for a long term injury, and it has been fully healed for about 2yrs. I completed my Royal Marine application form about 6 months after I was MedDis, but stopped after the RT test (I passed) due to other obligations at home.

When I re-apply I won't have to do the RT test again because its been less than three years since I done and passed the test. But I will need to wait for my army documents etc... to be processed before the application can be carried any further.

So with all this in mind, how long will my application take, assuming all goes well, 6 months?
