You have got to watch this all the way through, I hope they are playing up to the camera's because they are fulfilling their stereotype.

1. They aren't playing up to the cameras, USMC training is just like that. Why do you think they are all so, "AAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!! KILL KILL KILL!!! HOORAH!"

2. Is that second guy for real or this supposed to be a joke? He certainly looks the part, but I really don't think he has a clue about self defense. For a start self defense is supposed to be exactly that, defending yourself so you can get away, not about smashing someones head against a table because he, "Ish shaying shumtink aboud uur wife!"

Some of his techniques are also appalling.

That guys hardcore! He looks pretty handy, not the kind of guy you'd want to mess with lol

As for the US Marines, that is the way they do things it's not playing up for the cameras, they definately are a weird bunch, not sure how all that shouting and screaming helps make a good soldier but they obviously believe it works.

The strangest thing to me about their training is how the recruits have to refer to themselves in the third person, I watched it on a documentary once and it was really weird "this recruit belives he performed well on the duty assigned to him" he sounded like some kind of robot

Many other armies share the same attitude, this doesn't mean they were screamed down for 48hrs. It is the U.S armed forces attempt at creating "machines", in the process they succeed at creating arrogant, trigger happy, patriots.

Bas Rutten ludicrous as he may sound, is a competent aggressor. His technique is not appalling, just basic.

"I'm sorry sir, but I'm gonna break your leg" - hilarious

As for the U.S. marines, the training is designed to turm them in to arrogant, trigger happy, patriots... more than happy to do their job / die for their country etc and it obviously works.

hmm... I reckon that 48 hour shock treatment could be a good idea. You know, weed the weaklings out early. (I'm assuming thats what its for) It would be better to leave then and there, rather than signing on the dotted line and having to stay the minimum length of time (6 weeks or whatever) if you can't hack it.

But then it could work the other way... 48 hours with no sleep right before you start intense training sounds moronic.

Whatever works for them I suppose... :-?

Edited because of shit spelling. :x

Don't get me wrong, I certainly wouldn't like to meet the guy down a dark alley.

But I guess his video demonstrations must be over-dramtised, if he punched like that 'on the street' (as he likes to call it) any half-trained boxer would cut him down in seconds.

Surely the soldier with a collected mind of his own, the heart and pride of a lion, complete with a genuine sense of self belief, reigns superior to any hate crafted machine. Doesn't he?

True. But not everyone who shows up at RT or P-coy have those qualities. 48 hour shock could be used to remove those who lack the heart and pride of a lion. Or in the U.S case, used over the course of training to instill qualities of some sort in to the individual.

No matter whether we think it is a good idea or not... It must have some use and benefit or it would not be used.
