Right im going to cut a long story short here but if i babble bare with me!

A few weeks ago my dad was on the phone with his best mate who lives up in Arbroth in scotland. During his convosation he let on that i was looking to join the Royal Marines when i leave education. Now as luck would have it, it turns out that my dad's mate knows a Sargent Major up there at Condor and to my apsulte glee he managed to have a word with the Sargent Major and arange a tirp/tour kind of thing of the baracks. Im going up there from the thursday and leaving on the sunday and traveling by train. But i was wondering if there was anybody who lives nere by/ served/ been to etc Condor and the Arbroth area and would know of a good place to go on a run.
im not really looking to use the few days to train as i see it more of an experiance and is going to be a great brake but i Just want to get out and see the place my self as well really. this post is more out of hope than anything and ovcorse help is greatly Appreciated.

When you go in just ask the guys there, some bases (it might be most but I haven't been in enough to comment) have maps up showing the local area and good runs, and certainly the guys there will know local runs

Lunan Bay is just up the road from Arbroath. As the name suggests, plenty of sand and dunes to hammer yourself on. Condor has a trim trail around it that you might get to use, as well as a dry ski slope that is often used for sprint sessions. As _chris just said, ask the boys up there as well, there are more than enough places to crack some phys up there.

Another one to go is to turn left out the main gate, run down the main road for a bit, turn left again into the top MQ patch (probably not there anymore...but its the first big T junction you get to) run along there (skirts the edge of the airfield) down the road, on a sweeping right hander, it splits, take the left fork(2nd road on the left) down a little lane (st. Vigeans), and down to the bottom of the hill, past the church (RHS) over the bridge, along a bit, take a left at the end, go along the lane for about a mile, about a half mile after that keep to your left so that you end up facing the way you've just come but on a different track. Go straight on til you pop out at the 1st turning on the main road when you went down into St. Vigeans. (2nd left)
Take a right, and head back to camp the way you came out.
That one is about 5 to 5 and a half miles long. Its quite a good one too.
