Whats the deal with making your bed during rt now? Last time i was at ctc, we had those awful blankets and covers, but recruits are now issued blue duvets and covers, so whats the routine now?

well you slap your blue bed cover on , your matress cover , pillow case and sheet and there you go bed made . they dont to be honest matey check your bed to often .

Is it true that the troop stripey brings you some hot milk at bedtime, and reads you a bedtime story? I really hope so as this appeals to me as the most exciting part of training!

I was cheesed off this morning though, nobody polished my boots.

Is that right ay?? Well, my troops beds needed to be spot on EVERY morning until the end of training I mean Kings squad week. So yes some training teams don't care, some are mega anal.

Issued duvets? Kneepads on bottom field? Christ, I still get the piss ripped for going through training when it was easy, and that was two years ago! You lot sound like you're on holiday now...

To be fair 920's were ok with beds and that so long as you didn't take the piss.

My DL once caught us all still in our pits at 0605hrs one Monday morning. Oh the fun to be had running down all them stairs and steps with our matresses and bedding clutched above our heads on our way to the River Exe to find out all about the fun you can have when it comes to mud runs...........Never slept in again!!!

How big is CTC in terms of people staying there at any one time? How many troops are being trained at once, and how many different training teams are there? Because I've seen people say "my training team were strict" or "my training team were easy going", I didn't realise there were different teams, how many are there?

Lodgi, when 920 started 905 were passing out. So around 15 training teams for Nods. Each team will have an Officer a Sgt and 4-5 Corporals. Each Cpl will be in charge of a section of lads on a scond name basis.
(A-G would be 1 Section, H-K would be 2 section etc)

Each troop will have around 50 lads to begin with.

Some are more "anal" than others about admin definaltey.
919 were reknowned for giving their troop as little free time as possible, right up until Week 20 odd.

As said above I think it depends on your training team. In the first few weeks of training we just had to tuck the covers under the matress and keep the bed looking tidy. Unfortunately a few biffs in the troop couldn't manage that and now our beds have to be spotless and in bed blocks with the under sheet ironed every morning. Oh yeah, and we have to wash them twice a week now too because people couldn't keep them clean
