The Paras TV Series (1982) on YouTube

This bloke has put pretty much all of the whole series on YouTube, so now everyone can see it. I think he's still got an episode or two to download, but everything else is there. He's also put the P Coy documentary from 1992 on there as well.

Watched both of them the other day (also reading the book at the minute about the early 80's one). I was itching to for a run after watching each of them!! haha

Is it me though, or are there now more tests to complete in p coy? There was no mention of the endurance or 2 mile speed march the 'the paras' series! Are these recent additions to PPS or did these used to be done at a later date?

oooh that sounds a bit tasty! So the 20 miler has now replaced all 3 of those? If so, does this work better?

Must say though, the 20 miler is the one test i'm looking forward to the most! :D

i am about 11 years out of date with 4 para cadre so dont know how its run now but what i can imagine whats not changed is the simple fact that the p coy staff will not pass crap through them to go to battalion be it TA or regs (its a pride thing not to mention the fact they may have to serve together in a live op environment)

so be it 20 miler ir 18, 12, 10 ,2 ,3, 4, 5, 6 or what ever they will be looking for what they always have people that show the attributes required for service in airborne forces ie bags off aggression dedication and bloddy mindedness and the will to just never give in
fitness isnt much i know one guy who done no training at all for 15 para cadre in the 80s but then went on to be csm 15coy 4 para because he could push himself nonstop
get it in perspective p coy isnt above the average jeo if he has a bit off it about him and really wants it nothing is its all just hard graft

ie "what manner of men are these..........

Aren't there copyright issues when posting things like TV programs or movies on youtube?

The 2 miler route in Catterick is nails. Big long hill to start with just licks you right out.

The simple rule of keep running does work though.

One of my Oppos who is ex Para has I think a VHS copy of this series. If I can contact him I'll try and do the same as I did ref the RM DVD, as in get some copies made and then let you all know when they are ready.

Ain't seen the bugger since November and am not to sure if he still lives in the same place. So please bear with me on this one.

As has been said before, there are plenty of copies on ebay plus one or two VHS sets.
