Well thought id say before anyone else does haha , got medically discharged just before leave from lympstone for wheezing symptoms , found out yesterday that it was nothing to do with asthma and i was just ill but oh well damage is done now . Im 16 now and im alowd back in 4 years so im going to get my a levels out of the way and definetly go back . tips from me would be .

. DO NOT go to rt if your 16,17 years old , live your life abit first you'll have to be a very mentally determined young bloke to get through rt at this age , i found it very difficult

Get used to getting up early and doing alot of admin , because you will do alot of ironing e.t.c .

Try if you can do a bit of rope climbing before you get down there as this posed quite a difficulty to a few recruits.

These are just my thoughts on the matter. Good luck to all goin to R.T in the future.!!

Four years mate, you can do alot in that time - new college, new workplace - it can all change your outlook on life. Best of luck reapplying, and for the next four years, keep your chin up and enjoy your freedom!!

Unlucky bro,
Sounds like you are taking it in your stride anyway, and are not too hung-up over it. From what i have read, your fitness was very good.
I hope you still have a good christmas and that the next 4 years are ok for you.

Live a little. I have 4 years to go before i can apply, and its hard not to become fixated with keeping yourself as fit as you can be, and it eats into your time.
For a while i wasnt drinking much with my mates, as i didnt want to mess up my fitness, but in the end, i realized, im 18, ive got 4 years till i join, lets get some partying done! I try to keep a reasonable level of fitness, but not over board.

So i am not saying to go out and get lashed, and neglect your fitness, but keep things in balance.

All the best
Andy

Jacko im very sorry to hear this, its extremly bad news!!!!

Imagine how fit you can get in four years though, im mean bloody hell. After all the a-levels as well why not delve into the POC and going for officer training!!

Chin up mate, if you want it hard enough four years will treat you very well, get abit of money saved up and train like you were already for PRMC and keep upping it every month, you will be insanely fit, if you are dedicted to going back and really do want it use this four years to your advantage!!!

BEST OF LUCK, MERRY CHRISTMAS, dont look at this as being dischaged, look at it as freedom and extended training time

Sorry to hear that jacko1234, im sure your devastated at the moment but keep in mind that your still only a lad and you have your whole life ahead of you, not many guys your age would even pass a PRMC, you will be twice as tough when you go for it again. Get a few beers down your neck and work out a plan for the next few years, they will fly by.

alrite fella ,
honestly take my advice with a pinch of salt just how i felt about it , i just think its best to have a bit of fun in your life first and get abit of life experiance before chucking yourself in at the deep end. the next youngest in my troop was 18 and he was going to opt out after his 28 days service
