Thats it basically, a query I have!
Anybody know how often there is a recruit intake in catterick for parachute regiment recruits, or the royal anglian regiment which is my second choice?

not able to answer your post mate. But when you have a second choice / backup plan, you will not try as hard as you can to pass your first plan as your mind will say "i do not have to push myself to hard, if i fail i can go to plan B".

hello people new on the site here passed my selection in october there and they told me there waiting on a vacancy for e rlc driver radio and that they will find out when the computers get updated they said before christmas like anyone no where i could be heading to im 16 years old like so im not sure if they will send me with the juniors thanks

No it's not a case of that it's just a note to the guy to see this before getting his hopes set too high.

Just to note, It would be a very f**ked up policy to cut out para training for recruits and i would imagine the implications will be far greater than just broken hearts within the regiment and lower recruiting figures.

BUT

I'm not aiming to join the Paras just to because of the airborne role. I'm hoping to join because they are the very best this countrys military can offer in terms of professional soldiering.

I would just like to say to you, that is exactly the reason you should be joining, and you will serve with the most dedicated and proffesional soldiers in the world.

I hold both the maroon machine and the corps in high esteem. I tried for the marines, failed PRMC and always knew I would also try for the paras. The way I see it both units have different specialisations but rank along side each other in terms of soldiering skills.
Nothing wrong with healthy competitiveness but I've never been one to subscribe to the whole 'hes a cabbagehead' 'hes a craphat' routine. Maybe it'll change if i get into a unit. Hope this answers your question 'rc'
