Ive got 18 days of training before my prmc, my 3 mile time is looking good at sub 19 mins, as are sit ups, 65. I can do ten pull ups.
But i can only do 40 press ups and thats when im fresh! This maximum hasnt improved for a couple of weeks and im slightly worried about gym test one and whether ill be able to get min press ups!
Could anyone give me any ideas on how to improve as much as possible in under 3 weeks, please!

Also i currenlty do weight training 3 times a week, should i scrap this for the time being to concentrate on the press ups?

In my opinion id say yes, scrap the weights for the moment and just get cracking on a press up pyramid program instead. RGJ-Rifleman's has helped me alot....

hope this helps a bit....also think positivly and try not to worry as I find that can hold me back. Try to stay calm about it all and just push yourself.

as long as ur run good you can pass, it seems i heard of only 25 press-ups ect, and other low scores but passed 3 miler passing before.

i suck at running but good at rest.

tip: do max press-ups every hour for 1-4 weeks and see massive improvement. no dout. just be sure to do every hour and if you miss do x2 on next hour.

If you can get you running perfect you will be fine, as it is mostly to do with cardio vascular. If you do good on all the running and fair on the sits n presses, you should sale through. 40presses should be fine, just go for the whole 2minutes and show determination, you will probably do more when your there as of the atmosphere.

Go all out mate, and dig deep when your there, and DO NOT GIVE UP, no matter how much you feel you want to, it always comes to an end.

I wouldn't worry about it to much, I am on the same PRMC as you and our scores are very similar except you can do more pull ups than me. Just spend the next the next couple of weeks pushing yourself and i'm sure you will be fine.

chuck the weights and get doing normal pressups every second of the day like you will be doing when you get to training for the first 9 weeks and maybe the rest but ill let you no when im there and i got my green beret. when doing press-ups or any workout always go untill you can no longer do any more and then some more

Hey Ireglen.. I am/was in the same boat as you.

I was talking to a PTI at Merseyside RM base. He said just keep it simple, do 5-6 sets of 10-20 to start out with.. then add 5 every 2 or 3 days. after a week I have already added on 5-10 pushups.

dont worry about complex programs. just hammer the sets and keep upping your pressups.

Easy!
