i don't know what the poc is like because i didn't want to become an officer. but on the other hand i would just like to say that in the prmc the bottom field test is not even close to the hardest thing i thought in the end when i was reflecting that it was probably easier then the 3 miler itselfs, the assault course after is a bit of drag but its only pain.

How come you would rate it easier then 3 miler? Is it the warm up before 3 miler or nerves or what?
Do they run through isolated sections on the assault course on the PRMC bottom field?

LOL The 3 milier is easier the bottom field. 3 milier is quite hard but the bottom field is now after the assult course and is hard. Even though alot more people dropped out on the 3 milier.

The 3 miler is easy compared to the bottom field on prmc. You can actually train specifically for the 3 miler unlike bottom field where you don't know what they are going to throw at you, you can guess

I think gym test two is the one to look out for....since you're tired from everything before it.
Those 3 minute stances seemed to go on forever

I felt that bottom field was pretty much the same for both, the only difference is that on the POC you have to do the two firemans carrys and you also have to do the rope hang, except for that they are pretty much the same.

On my first PRMC bottom field was 100 x worse than my 2nd PRMC. I don't know if it was just me, but I really found my 2nd one easier that the first time.
(but it ISN't easy by the way....I just found it easier than the first time)

in regards to what you're saying there, i believe my nerves were shot to shit when i cam because i had come from canada, and if i failed i would have to fly back to canada and everyone else who said i couldn't do it would laugh and my dad who is an ex bootneck himself would have laughed. so yes nerves were high but after that run i just calmed down and it was all proffessional. in all honesty as well im used to that bottom field type of activity, thats what we did for hockey training i guess i was just used to that and didn't see it as much of a hassel.

The rope hang is no-longer on the POC bottom field - some clown fell off from 20ft and broke his arm. They were made to climb the ropes then hang, or not as the case may be!

oh boy that sounds good, i wonder what that bloke did to screw that up. you know in training you're pretty well shown how to climb and then you do it, so that guy was screwed either way. LOL

Looking back you have to admit its not that bad, althought their are points were you will find hard, the bottom field was a big warm up for us before the assault course and it was tiring running up and down the hill in boots with mud, funny tho when it came to carrying guys on your back about 6 of us fell on the turn at the bottom, but it was fun, if you give it all like what i did you can get a chance to come back, gym test two at the end were you have to sprint up and down the hall, thats well grim, i got cramps while i was running and that was well hard, but i kept running tho like many other guys.

You must of got an easy session!! My bottomfield was the hardest thing I ever did, I was on the verge of collapse after the first half.
