Have you tried using the search button by any chance? It's located in the top left corner of the forums.
You should be able to find hundreds of threads relating to your question using it.

Hi nightstalker
As the last poster said take a look under the under threads - try some pyramid type training (sets of 400m fast, and then a a longer 800m run at medium pace) or why not join the local running club?

Do it like this:
left
right

right

right...
Very, very quickly. Repeat until your body switches from its normal mouth/nose air intake to the rectal one. Then do it some more.
You will get faster

As a general rule you want to be pushing yourself hard enough so that you can't talk when running, instead your concentrating on your breathing, and gettin your time down from 10.55 shouldn't be hard, a good time is sub 9mins, and if wanna get really fit join the marines

Spooky, I am sure you can be a BIT more helpful that that!

Mebbe, but thats what it essentially boils down to. Its all I ever did. Worked for me, instead of magical wonderful generic training program no. 385308707024805284027304723047230478035.

hi,
what you need to build up speed over a certain distance is sprint training, try interval training-sprint around a football pitch with 2 mins rest inbetween each lap
