hi there just got my application forms for the marines will be sendin them off tmo so not really began the process yet! had a chat with the navy recruiter and he reckons about 4 months for RT training to start (assuming i pass the prmc n medical ect ect) just wonderin from every1's experience is this gonna be enough time to get to a high enough standard fitness wise? been a regular gym goer for 2-3 years but lately been mostly hittin the weights, n only just started to beast it on the cv my weekly trainin session breaks down like this.......
oh yeah im 18(very soon to be 19) 5'10'' n 13 stone if that helps in anyway???
Mon - 2 mile run (will get progessively longer) dips 3 x 15 chins 3 3 x10
press ups 3x 20 sit -ups 3 x 30 - these will all get progessively more as i get fitter
Tues - rugby trainin which is pretty intense with a 3km run just for a warm up.....which is pretty hard atm i must say.... with circuits ect ect
Weds - same as monday
Thurs - same as tuesday
Fri- Weights general all over compound exercises, squats, bench press etc etc with reps 10-15 will vary
sat- soon to be rugby matches
sun- rest
Not really sure if this is gonna be enough for the prmc which is probably about 2 /12 months away assuming all the paperwork goes well, just wonderin if this routine is gonna be anough to kick the body into good enough shape in time??? swimming needs to be an option i think aswell but dont wanna train 7 days a week! what does everyone think?
Cheers. Darren
