Everybody must have thoughts or feelings that keep them going either through fitness training, or prmc. When i was on prmc things that kept me going where:

1. Where i live is shite and the girls are fat
2. I hate failing and would look like a nobber
3. Theres no other job in the world i want to do apart from be a royal marine.
4. The feeling that i will get when i would be passing out.

These helped me through training and prmc and these are the things im going to keep in my mind when im in recruit training so that when things get sh*t these will keep me going.

Come on lad you must have some

Various thoughts along the same lines as you.

My concern is being able to pick myself up after several nights with a few hours sleep and having yet more admin to do... I think thats when its either going to make you or break you. I will shortly find out. Keeping going through the phys will be a bit more 'simple' because they will be short term goals, whether it be a gym session or a run, it will end shortly... Like i say its the admin and things like that which i know i will struggle with at times.

Im just going to have to take myself back home mentally and remember why im actually there, listen to my mp3 player etc... seperate myself away from the lympstone environment as much as possible when im at those low points and im sure it will re-ignite my motivation for why im there.

for me, the feeling of putting on my green beret at the end of a hard slog
and knowing that i god damn deserve to wear it - is my motivation. i know its going to be hard, but at the same time i know ill have a few laughs, those memories will keep me going through the hard grafts.

1. Being able to say - to myself, let alone anyone else - that I've earn't a green beret.

2. The anticipation of passing-out day with my family watching.

3. Knowing I've done something worthwhile in my life and that I will have put every ounce of effort towards it.

yea i have feelings exactly like that...

when im training, just the thought of being good enough to earn a green beret keeps me going, i always say to myself that to earn it you have to keep going and instead of taking that first, second or third road back you keep going and take the fourth...

I also have the amazing pressure of my father, he himself was a marine, tried to go for sbs but had to leave in the last 2 weeks for a medical problem...i always just say to myself that i refused to give him the pleasure of seeing me fail, I just think that if he can do it, i can.

Usually when im training i dont tend to think about much else other than what im doing, it was like this on the prmc aswell, i was just concentrating on doing the next excersise be it press-ups or tuck jumps or sprints etc and usually counting the number, quitting never entered my head. Even on bottom field i just had a look at the other lads and then just kept going till we stopped. On the long runs however i tend to think about all sorts, the pace im going, my breathing, the fit bird across the road etc :D :P

Hmm.............What keeps Mwa going. lets see. I'll get to handle big guns. :D Where I live is shite too, too many foreigners so thats one of the biggest. The fact that I will be part of a full professional team-in every aspect, the assumption I will have little paper work in my job  . Definatley Job excitement, actually working with guys I actually RESPECT, as a civie I never respect anyone in me jobs.

The fact that whilst my mates are all at uni accumulating debt, 30% body fat and a qualification in something they are only half bothered about i will be doing something i really badly want and which will give me a real sense of acheivement and enjoyment.

Seems a lot of people think where they live is shyte, me too! :D :( And cause of visa issues over here most of the gals are either twice me age or half
Hopefully a job with a lack of paperwork and knowing that I will be physically and mentally fit than I ever thought I could be. Achievement.

im starting my second week of training and i have to say that the main thing that gets you through is the rest of your troop and all the laughs you have at 2:00 am when your still ironing kit and have to be up at 5:30 am. :D

Where I live is also shite :D things that keep me going are people who just laugh at me and say that I have got no chance of doing it.
Also seeing all the nobbers who live around here who have no life ahead of them and all have dead head jobs with no future.
Also knowing that my family will be proud of me and knowing that I have achieved my potential.
