Had my medical today, went great, the only concern was my height to weight ratio, my BMI was fine as was the rest of the medical, after he said im not passing you or failing you, i want you to put on 6kg. This is gonna take me ages and i was hoping to do my PRMC before August. Any quick tips for gaining weight ultra quick ?

Cheers Guys

I found that adding 500kcals a day helps, in the form of 6 chocolate digestive biscuts with my coffee.

2months of using weights 3 times a week, and eating properly will sort that out.

I left the Corps and then went to join the R. Irish they told me I was to heavy for my height. They had a scale on the wall that said if you are this tall you should be in this weight bracket. I was told to lose a couple of stone. I had a few words with them as I was not over weight and trained regularly, to cut a long story short they sent me to the Doc for a second opinion who said I wasnt over weight.

I was no more than 8 stone dripping wet when I first joined. I would ask for a second opinion as they would be happy to take you with an extra stone of fat but not as you are. Seems a bit silly as it wouldnt really help you carrying extra body weight with your phys.

Perhaps next time they weigh you drink as much water as is humanly possible without being sick, if you can time it correctly with a full bladder and being desperate for a dump you will maybe weigh in that extra 6kg.

Alternatively start doing some power lifting at the gym (1-6 reps) on some some hardcore compound movements like dead lifts, bench press, squats. To supplement your weights program use creatine (increases water retention) and a good mass gainer that will massivley increase your calorie intake, finally go on a see food diet (you see food and eat it).

Maybe start running now with 6 kilos in a back pack to get used to the extra weight.

Creatine is a good idea in the short term as its basically putting more water in your cells and muscles so you will of course be heavier. But once you stop talking it you will loose the water, so just be aware ... ;)

It sounds like your massively udnerweight, if you do weights your body should take back what its owed in muscle quite quickly.

according to the bmi calculator if you are 5'11 and 13st you are overweight, but only by a margin, check it out http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/healthy_liv ... ndex.shtml
