Pirbright is alright as long as you get the new blocks Ive spoke to lads in the old blocks the fact they have no plug sockets and a small locker. If your in the new blocks you get loads of plug sockets by your bed and nice drying room utility room and loads of locker space. Just try hard at all times is the best advice i can give. As your going REME you may be in rowcroft company which is in the new blocks so just pray to the admin gods your there. You could take the our lines if your in rowcroft as we leave the week before you get there, if you do just behave yourself around a lance sgt from burma platoon, hes scarey. Enjoy the first week as its a breeze but after that it gets crazy, keep your mouth shut, stand still and just do as your told and youll not struggle. work hard on drill as that was our platoons biggest problem but in the end it turns out after week 6 everyone was good enough, saying that we did have a few back squadded before the test. Get used to wearing boots as a few lads got some mammouth blisters in the first few weeks. Oh yeah and make sure you have a good iron as youll learn to appreciate it when everyone else is on show parade and you can actually get your kit done in peace.
Finally dont listen to all the "oh my god its so hard i cant go on" it is hard but you wont do anything your not taught so just listen, oh yeah and getting gased is bad, theres no way to stop it so chin up jog, with the speed of a 1000 gazelles (elegant ones) GO!!!

Great advise mate, just what i was looking for.
One more question thats bothering me, Did any pricks steal anything? Was told at AFCO that the first few weeks are bad for that.

we had no crime problems one lad even left his locker open all weekend when we were in belgium, dont do that though as he got put on show parade every night for a week, your locker should always be locked yes there are theives about but you shouldnt give them any chance because if you leave your locker open even whilst your in the briefing room youll get your kit chucked out, just lock it, simple. anything else just PM me ill be happy to help.

when i did my basic someone nicked some lads webbing that he bought himself.
ive got to do my basic again now

not looking forward to being a crow t**t who has to march everywhere again
i remember how proud i was the first time i passed out after the parade and the corperals who gave us s**t sat down and drank with us because we were now trained soldiers in our own little stab way
