Hi, i have just passed rsc and i was wondering how long it will take for me to start basic training.

I have 2 questions.

When is the earliest date i will be able to start.

When is the latest date i will be able to start without having to go back to rsc?

Cheers lads, Scruff.

This is really one for your AFCO to answer mate, give them a bell and you will be told.

I doubt anyone here will be able to tell you intake dates, as you haven’t even mentioned what regt/corps your joining.

congrates on passing though.

It says on the certificate you should of got when you passed RSC that you have 14 days to contact your ACO, I phoned up the day after i passed, a few hours after that I had my date, what Is It your going for mate? Where are you doing your training?

I got back from my RSC on a Thursday, called the AFCO on the Friday. By Tuesday I had my start date and form in the mail telling me my contract signing date and service number. It all depends on availability of your trade, and if you are going Infantry, which Division you're going for. I am going Light Division (LI, RGJ) so they will run more courses than the Paras for example (4 Batallions they have to staff, not 3 like the Paras).

The infamous heart murmour sent me home on day one. Three or four others also had it.

Have to go to a specialist who will no doubt tell me i am fine. Wasting my time and will now miss the may itake.

Too bad bro, Gazza85 had the same problem, but he managed to get it sorted no problems. Good luck.

Nearly everyone who gets sent to the specialist passes. No one failed when i went there and there was at least 30 of us.

Its a proper demoraliser when you get told at RSC. took me 6 and a half hours to get to RSC from Manchester on train and coach, had lunch, had medical and told to go home within the hour, another 6 and a half hour journey back same day.
