I've just finished watching the programe about the Assault Sqn's exploits in Iraq! and felt I had to comment. From start to finish the editorial was completely biased towards the blue on blue! i'm sure if the lads being filmed had been aware of the way they would be portrayed they would not have given their permission! These guys are extreme professionals and came across as being shit hot soldiers with an extremely strong esprit de corp and professional ethos, every single one of them was part of the TEAM! Switched on individuals working together in cohesion (just look at the CASEVAC OP) This programme did not do them justice! Bye the way yes, I am biased I've played with these guys before and they have my respect! ( Not something I give easily!!!!!! )

It wasn't "Fighting The War" by any chance was it?

Yeah, that's the one. The whole thing just seemed to be trying to make the lads from the assault sqn and the lads from 42 look like amateurs! which isn't even close!

Fark Em!
The Lads know the score and next time the TV bassers want to do a "Fly on the wall thingy" I should imagine they are going to be told to "Go Away In Short, Sharp, Jerky erotic movements"!
They once did a thing about Royal in Norge. Pre 1982 it was. What a moaning bunch of Dicks they were. Somehow a Pile of kit disapeared after they had been there for three days. And the thing never got made.
Me mate Spiders got a cracking Camcorder/Sound thingy! It's at least 23 years old and a bit Old fashioned by todays standards mind.
Dicks!

You should watch the series whenever you can it is brilliant, i watched an episode yeserday of "fighting the war" and it was about whether or not they should assault Basra. In it 42 commando conducted operations just outside of Basra ahead of any other British force and the queens dragoon guards who were to stay back and only provide support if 42 requested it said that they were amazed at the royal marines composure in battle and how well they fought even though they are light fighting force. I was amazed cause in the operation they were at the tip of the british spear and were up against armoured vehicles and all sorts.
