Rest before PRMC

I've got my PRMC this monday (7th-11th March), and I was wondering how long to rest

The green bible suggests 3 days, but since we dont do anything on the first day does this count as one of these days? i ask because I want t pack as much training as possible into this week

I would train saturday and rest on the sunday, might be worth chucking as many carbs as possible down your throat as well, sort of stock up on energy.

On the first day you wont do anything.

Trainee, please think about it from this point of view. Your in the middle of say....Iraq, with your friend Beardo. You have people shooting at you from all directions, your depending on the man next to you...you look round and see Beardo, the same man that asked 'umm.......er...........HOW MANY DaYs do I tAkE ofF bEfOuR mI PRmc.'.

And you it suddenly dawns on you...............

'oh fark'

Can't a guy ask for some advice? After all, thats what these forums are for arn't they? Obviously, correct me if im way off alright? :-?

search out the answer - this is covered frequently. Personally I rested as of the Friday, following the offcial line of the RM.

Common sense dictates that you'll be nervous and most likely won't sleep well on sunday or monday night and wake at some stupid hour on the tuesday.

JC, Forums are for sharing information not asking the same questions over and over. If Beardo PM'd someone then it's different (if it'll be any use Beardo feel free mate, I'll help if I can), but posting old questions is somewhat frustrating for the older and bolder.

Give them some consideration and not just the kids

I tried the search button, I couldnt really find anything, theres too much that comes up

and I can see your point Jeb, I wouldnt want to be next to the person who asked a question either, becuase of course nobody else in my unit would have ever asked a question would they :roll:

Alright, understood. However "the older and bolder" should try some form of stress medication if they can't handle a simple question poping up on their computer screen. No ones asking them to left click their mouse on the thread and then proceed to type on their keyboard, which in turn actually takes longer and waists more time. Allow someone who actually can be arsed to answer to do so. Its as if people love the confrotation.

Answering the original question: 3 days is alright to allow the energy to build and also ensures the carbs don't completely disapear before the big day. Also get plenty of sleep.

Like TTfresh said, I too rested from Friday...maybe Thursday? I loaded up on carbs the next few days (ate plenty of pasta), Vitamin C (fruit - bannanas especially) and drank plenty of water.

Don't overdo the training just before the rest mate....you dont wanna injure yourself! :)

Definately rest for 3 days beardo. I know a triathlete and he rests a week before his event. You start to lose fitness and strength/muscle after 2 weeks, so 3 days you wont lose any. Also, your legs wont recover enough if you rest anything below 3 days, and trust me you will want you legs to be at 110% when you go down :wink:

I had my PRMC on a monday and rested fri, sat sun, and monday (as you dont do anything on that day).

If the bible says rest for 3 days, then rest for 3 days.
