Hey Guys.
Start my TG course on 20th Feb (going down on 19th though as there's f@#k all trains on the Sunday) and just wondered if anyone knew any kit/items not included on the kit list that would be useful to take down with me.
I've searched and it came back with a few items but none were specific to Regt training, only to people training at Halton.
Some items i have already:
Zippo lighter
Lint roller
Dusters
Cleaning cloths
Small torch
Any help apritiated.

marker pen, for putting your last three on your kit and some decent coat hangers, and I garauntee you'll be the most popular bloke on the block if you've got some brasso as well.

Take your own ironing board. Also take several rolls of Zinc Oxide tape for your feet!
Some sealable plastic bags are good for protecting your gear when out in the field.
Not essential, but if you're feeling loaded - get yourself a decent headtorch. Perhaps a Leatherman tool as well - although you can pick these up cheap/free as swaps the first time you ever work with the Yanks!
A bottle of Tabasco (or simular) is good for livening up your ration packs!

Graeme, dont go ott on buying kit for the TG course. As you go through it you'll have an idea in your own mind what you need and what you can get away with on field Ex's. One peice of kit that is important is a decent iron and ironing board, you'll need your own because at the beginning of the course you spend all night trying to figure out how to iron your bastard denims!
Sod the gucci kit mate just go with a good attitude, get on with the lads on your course, dont gob off and you'll settle in fine. Plus theres always loads of Yorkshire lads (was on mine anyway).
All the best.

You can buy small ones in Tescos. Unscrew and remove the metal 'iron holder' thingy on the end. They are quite portable.
