I HATE parade.
If i can't do or do a sloppy parade can it cause me to be kicked ?
because i REALLY HATE parade ... any tips of gettin out of it ?

Well you joined up, so just what did you think you would be doing all day, did you never hear of drill or marching and parades before you joined. If you don't want to do it you can either buy your self out or go over the wall the choice is yours.

i know a few words on a screen isnt much to judge a person on but your attitude isnt one that will see yo go far in the armed services.

if your hacked off at the thought of doing a little drill, how do you think your going to feel at being cold, wet, hungry after having slept a couple of hours in two days and having to be inspected and shouted at by an angry NCO who may make you do a little more drill...

sloppy? you will be made to do it until it is not.

You really are taking the P*ss. For god sake lad you run a website about military but you THINK you can avoid drill. God help the forces in the future.

I don't think anybody finds drill easy first off, as it isn't a normal way to go about moving one's body from point to point. But practice makes perfect, that's why we practice.

But, with an attitude of avoiding something because you don't like it, as everybody has said, should you really be looking to the forces for a career?

Marching is only an extension walking. Think about it, when you walk your arms naturally swing, when you march you just bring that swinging motion shoulder hi.

It's not rocket science

As for you jack, join the fire service, I hear they have gotten rid of the marching and you'll still get to wear a unifrom and feel important .

The reason i hate it is because i was in the cadets for a short stint (what a mistake !!) and the first thing they had me doing was drill ... which wasn't too bad except every single prick that was showing us (us being me and my mate) got a bit power hungry knowing we had to follow his orders. Well one thing they had us doing was marching 13paces forward .... in a tiny yard where you can only take about 8-9 marching paces, so wen my nose upagainst the bleedin' wall he would shout at me for not doing the full 13paces. And he was not an exception, every single guy did it, i guess its safe to say it probably wouldn't be much different in the real forces.

Being in the cadets is not a mistake, it is a very good foothold to a fruitful carear, but it should have made you realise that if drill isnt for you, despite the small drill square, then perhaps the forces isnt for you neither. And as for the p***k (no need for full swear words when so many youngsters log in) he was trying to teach you discipline and how to follow orders, something else which you require to have in the forces.

Marchin and stuff. The reason this movement is taught, is to enable an individual, or a body of men, to march in a smart soldierlike and uniform manner.

It also teaches discipline and the ability to follow orders automatically
