Minor point, it's a deactivated rifle, not a copy.

I was a bit drunk when I first replied and now on reflection I'll wind my neck in in future.
Thought it was one of them airsoft BB guns when I first saw it.

I'm peeved, now. I'd seen these about a year ago (along with a third elsewhere). I'd kept quiet and planned to pick one up early next year. Now they're *all* sold.
I suppose I'll have to get a FN Minimi, instead.
My neighbour's cat is just *begging* for 5.56mm Ball...

*NOW* you tell me...
I thought of handing in an Airsoft SA80 and keeping the issue item after an exercise. Problem is that they'd have noticed
straight away - the tougher build strength of the Airsoft jobby is a dead giveaway.

I like the gpmg. Alot of units dont use them because its too much for them to handle. In a firefight though the more firepower the better, and its 70% of the section firepower.

Oh aye dont get me wrong im not saying i wouldnt want it on our side, rather it firing in the opposite direction. Its the lugging it about
But im happy with the fact that some other poor sod in my section has it
P.S. Our unit does use it

What do the RM have per section then? I thought para reg were the only unit to use gpmg's in section level (apart from SF obviously).
LSW's are called "crow sticks" in the battalions, because its always the new blokes who get it.

Aye well we generally just say sprog, and thats why i got mine lol
Yeah it doesnt always work out the same but we normally have :
2 LSWs
2 Minimis
3 SA80s
1 GPMG
And why would it just be the Paras who use it barr SF?

Never heard that one before
Hope this helped
