Description

BBI proudly introduces the latest issue in its Elite Force series of authentic military 12- inch figures, President George W. Bush in naval aviator flight suit. Exacting in detail and fully equipped with authentic gear, this limited-edition action figure is a meticulous 1:6 scale recreation of the Commander-in-Chief's appearance during his historic Aircraft Carrier landing. On May 1, 2003, President Bush landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72) in the Pacific Ocean. While at the controls of an S-3B Viking aircraft from the "Blue Sea Wolves" of Sea Control Squadron Three Five (VS-35), designated "Navy 1," he overflew the carrier before handing it over to the pilot for landing. Attired in full naval aviator flight equipment, the President then took the salute on the deck of the carrier.

I dont really want one for Christmas, it actually really annoys me. I, myself, am too young to remember the Vietnam war. From what I have read and researched though I am led to believe he was a deserter so never mind this plan to wrap him in a military uniform and issue an action figure under the guise of "Elite Forces".

Bush was of the age to serve in the military he first opted to hide in the National Guard while utilising his family influence to bypass others who scored much higher than himself and gain a commission.

Having done this, as young men, were dying in Vietnam, this coward could not even find it in himself to do that little bit and, according to all legal definitions, deserted his duties, a crime punishable by execution in time of war.

This being said he has consistently lied about his service or, at best, refused to comment.

Even more offensive is this 'blurb' that is getting used describing the toy and suggesting that he actually flew the plane to the aircraft carrier (where, incidentally, he made a few thousand men and women who had been parted from their families for too long wait for the sole purpose of getting a photo shoot for his upcoming election hopes.).

Then, take into consideration that this coward sent thousands of servicemen and women into the heat of battle under false, contrived and misrepresented pretenses and had the nerve to goad the enemy by saying "bring 'em on" while he jets safely and in the lap of luxury back and forth between Washington and his two vacation spots.

PS. 'Major Military Operations are over in Iraq' heh

wow I bit. :o :o

I'd be inclined to do a little more"Research"Before you start dissing people Klink,"Deserter"Was and never has been an accusation leveled at president Bush.Your BBC fired analogy was funny once(about two years ago)Now it's old'as it should be,find something else to bark at.I just thank God that the American people had the sense to re-elect a president who isn't afraid to say"BOO"
Wholley.

I agree the term 'deserter' perhaps goes a little to far but issuing a doll under the guise of 'elite forces' when he was weekend flyer in the air national guard is taking the michael somewhat. And commemerating that farce aboard the carrrier - 'mission accomplished' try telling that to the Black Watch or USMC.

Bush was not a deserter and I have read that his family had more influence over his decision not to go to Vietnam. However in his past dealings Mr Bush has been corrupt, and he has lied for personal gain.

He was in the oil business and now he runs the biggest oil user in the world, makes sense :o :)

He got voted in again so thats it for 4 more years. What was the alternative, another rich bulls***er.

The war in Iraq is going to continue for a long time yet and Bush is a good war leader.

Fair point but in my opinion he was the lesser of two evils and if I was an American I would want a Commander In Chief who had actual combat experience.
Bush is a good war leader.
What do you base this on? Not trying to 'flame you', just curious?

He volunteered to go to Vietnam,Some Airguard did indeed serve there,But only those with previous combat experience were selected,Mostly Korean War Vets.Kerry however was almost Drafted,He chose the Navy as he figured that would'nt put him in harms way.He had recieved the letter"Of Intent to Draft"From the War Dept and so decided to jump before he was pushed,If drafted he would have ended up in the Army,Far less glorious and less chance of getting noticed. His Purples are a little suss, his Silver is still under investigation by the Dept of the Navy.
This has kinda been covered before on another thread,
So I'll shut up,Just perleeze research before posting second hand misinformation.
"DakaDakaDaka,Simon!!!!Look for the Hun in the sun!!"
"I thought you might come from there""Don't think boy FLY and never fly in a straight line for more than ten seconds""Lets try that again"
Biggles(Still cracking me up'Arry) :D

Wholly, a quick search of Google found quiet a bit on this desertion issue. Instead of reading it for myself and posting what I agree with or want to, you can, if you so wish take a lil look yourself. :)

Think we can talk about this until the cows come home but I believe the Bush administration no more than I believe Michael 'lefty' Moore. Pinch of salt anyone?
