I have been researching the requirements qualifications wise for officer entry, and even though it says 3 highers and 2 standard grades in diffrent subjects (scottish equivelant to A levels) is this actually ok to go in with. Or do you actually need a degree. Im wondering this because if all goes well when i leave school i will have 5 highers and 8 standard grades and a few course that are academically somewhere in between the two. This worries me though, because i have no intention of going to uni or college and some of my friends say that i wont get in because you need a degree even though the qualification requirement say that you dont. is this true?

You definatley don't need a degree although some would say that the life experience you gain at university will stand you in good stead. Your ACLO is the best person to speak to regarding this, after all its their job!

JC yeah they are basic +/- questions etc... just to see how fast and accurate you are, you cant really revise for this its just your natural ability, dont worry about it. Go down to the AFCO and ask for a booklet on the test to have a look at and get familiar with the questions.
