Im just curious what these are and how long they are. I want to know so i can reassure myself because for some reason they are part of my nightmares crawling in a tunnel underwater. What are they like?

Piece of p*ss fella, they are only about 1.5m long - The scariest bit is waiting your turn

Just listen to their instructions, kneel down, hand under the lip of the tunnel - hear your oppo shout "2, 6, GO!!!" and head under but DON'T KICK otherwise your oppo will be getting his own back when it's his turn to go.

It's actually over very quickly, I actually found the RM BST more scarey but I passed

?

What did you mean when you said dont kick off and whats the best way to get out once you are in?

The only past I know is that the tunnel is 8ft long and is your quite a small person then you will get though easyer because every recuit has to go though the same tunnel. If anybody wants to see pictures or a film of the tunnel then the RM software has this on and there is a picture of the tunnel or the royal navy web site under pictures.

Lee, the only tunnel that is totally submerged in water is only a couple of metres long. At that stage you will be with 2 oppos, one at each end of the tunnel to push and pull you through. So if you kick you're going to knock out your oppo, not good when he's got other things on his mind!

There is other tunnels for you to get stuck in, but they aren't underwater, but they are narrow, smarties ring a bell dont they Antubis??

Waheyyy! The Smarties tubes - Nice!

Best after torrential rain when the water is just below your chin when crawling through... :o

It isnt going to change anytime soon, since last year the RE came re-dug all the tunnels and fortified them, ready to last at least another 50 years! :)

The smarty tubes were concrete tubes - they've made them wider :o It's a conspiracy :o

If you've got a choice (a very rare thing at CTC but some troops could choose on this one) don't go for the right hand one if it's wet. If you've got someone furiously kicking in front of you the waves will cover you completely - in which case just time it right and try to hold your breath while breathing out of your arse.

Has someone spotted a strops-rating pre-nod anywhere

Sully, you'll be glad to know that the right hand tunnel is still a very tight fit and oggin still comes right up (and over) the chin.... Not sure if the RE missed this one out when they were rebuilding ;)

Lee, when I said kicking off in the 'sheep dip' aka the water tunnel I meant because your oppo will get a face full of size 9 combat high boot and he will be just a bit threaders with you....
